Ours are also separated and we use stickers to help keep the various
reading levels together. For example, level 1 might have an orange sticker,
level 2 has yellow, level 3 has green (I don't actually remember the colors
just now but you get the idea). We also have early chapters which are
separate from the "regular" chapter books, and those get a blue sticker.
The visuals are really helpful!
