The Penn State Icers kept their record perfect as they defeated the Michigan-
Dearborn Wolves 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Ice Pavilion. UMD proved to
be the toughest challenge for the Icers this season, as the games remained
scoreless until midway through the second period. However, the Icers first
goal about 10 minutes into the period would start a "feeding frenzy" of 5 goals
in 7 minutes, and the Icers led 5-0 at the end of the second. The Wolves would
close to 5-2 early in the third, but then Ross Cowan would score his second and
third goals of the game, as the Icers went on to win 7-2. Cowan had 6 goals
and 1 assist on the weekend. John Gray picked up the win for the Icers, while
Joe Aho (rhymes with the Tomahawk Chop :^) took the loss for Dearborn. The
Icers are now 18-0-0, while UMD falls to 12-7-1. The Icers are back in action
at the Ice Pavilion this weekend at the Pepsi/Best Western Nittany Lion
Invitation. #9 Ohio Univ. will face Buffalo State at 5 PM on Friday, with
#1 Penn State taking on #10 Rhode Island at 8 PM (this will also count as an
Atlantic Collegiate Hockey League game). The consolation game is at 5 PM on
Saturday, with the Championship following at 8 PM. The Icers will look to
avenge their fourth-place finish of last year. Rhode Island is the defending
champion.

Against these teams this season: Penn State d. Buffalo St. 7-2
                                             d. Ohio Univ. 6-2
                                             d. Rhode Island 14-2

The Icers are currently outscoring their opposition 164-31.
