Michigan had only 11 forwards available, as the Wolverines were without
Brian Wiseman (back spasms), Cam Stewart (suspended for a fight in the
UIC series) and Anton Fiodorov (temporarily? removed from the team for
disciplinary reasons).

Neither team looked stellar. Michigan was not crisp, and Ohio State
was, well Ohio State. :-) OSU's freshman goaltender Askey showed me
more at times than Mike Bales ever did. Maybe OSU has someone to
build around, if he can stomach Jerry Welsh for four years.

The critical point in the game came late in the first period. After a
brief scuffle, Michigan received 8 minutes in minors to OSU's 4, giving
the Buckeye's 2:00 of 5-on-3. Michigan was holding a 2-0 lead at the
time, and managed to keep OSU off the board, maintaining control of the
game.

I didn't keep a box score, but the Michigan goals came from (in order):
David Roberts, Ron Sacka, David Roberts, David Oliver and Ryan Sittler.
Roberts was the game's number one star.
