 St. Cloud State University signed five hockey players to letters of intent:
 defenseman Randy Best from St. Paul Johnson; goalie Neil Cooper, Thunder Bay
 Flyers; forward Chris Markstrom of the St Paul Vulcans, who played at
 Bloomington Kennedy; forward Kelly Rieder, St. Cloud Apollo; and defenseman
 Lon Hovland, Duluth Denfeld.
