HIS NAME Is INDEED GOOFUS (i know not of any other)
He lives in the marquette, Mi area and regularly attends
nmu games at lakeview arena. He may just be the most dedicated
college hockey fan among us, since after his appearance in
providence to root on the spartans, he journeyed to the joe
in detroit in support of the wildcats. his antics include
inciting the crowd to coutdown from 10 (10, 9, 8 ...) when zero
is reached he climbs onto his seat, unbuckles his pants, and drops his
them revealing his darkgreen scivvies that have the message go
wildcats (spartans) across the backside. he does this 360 degree
moon at least once a game! In addition to his gargling yells
he plays the one man band contraption that you saw him with this
weekend. Those of you who missed him, the instrument consists of
horns, symbals, and other noise makers. I can remember as a child
seeing him march in a small town parade on labor day singing his own
happy song - this was in 1978! His love of entertaining sports
enthusiasts is not limited to college hockey as i heard ernie harwell
mention that goofus was getting the milwaukee brewer fans from the u.p.
riled up at a tigers-brewers game last summer.
