HOCKEY WINS AT FRAMINGHAM STATE, 5-2

FRAMINGHAM, MA-Five different players scored goals and junior Collin Tracy (Medford, MA/ Medford HS) turned in a strong game in goal as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team defeated host Framingham State, 5-2, in a Massachusetts College Athletic Conference game at Loring Arena Saturday.

The Corsairs, who earned their second consecutive victory, scored twice in each of the first two periods to take a commanding 4-1 lead into the second intermission.

Sophomore forward Rob Dudley (Douglas, MA/Middlesex School) put the Corsairs on top when he scored at 7:07 of the first period. Freshman forward Dave McDonald (Wakefield, MA/Valley Jr. Warriors) made it 2-0 when he scored with 2:46 left in the first period.

Sophomore forward Giancarlo Capodanno (Mountainside, NJ/NJ Rockets) made it 3-0 when he scored at 14:21 of the second period. Charles Vaillancourt put the Rams on the board 23 seconds later, but freshman forward Paul Graham (Quincy, MA/Northern Cyclones-AtJHL) made it 4-1 with a goal at 16:34. Dudley, Capodanno and McDonald each finished with a goal and an assist for the Corsairs, and Tracy made 26 saves in only his second start of the season.

“For the second game in a row, we had a very good outing,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “We had goals from five different players, and Collin Tracy played great in net. We entered the week needing two wins, and we got two wins, and it was good to get another league victory.”

UMass Dartmouth out shot Framingham State, 34-28. Terence Sullinvan made 29 saves for the Rams.
The Corsairs were scoreless in five opportunities on the power play, while FSC converted one of six chances.

UMD improved to 7-10-1 and 2-8-1 in the MASCAC with the victory, while Framingham State dropped to 1-14-2 and 1-10-1 with the defeat. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Fitchburg State Thursday evening. The Rams will host Stonehill Wednesday.
