Received a letter today from the NCAA which said my "request to purchase tickets for the 2010 NCAA Men's Frozen Four at Ford Field in Detroit has been accepted." It also includes seat location as section "RS37" and that tickets ($189 each or $63 per game) will be distributed March 2010. Now my big question is what does RS stand for as the section? "Rickety Shit" or "Really Shaky" comes to mind first, but then possibly "rented section" would work but I suppose the politically correct interpretation would be "rink side" which is where the section is located. But they are on the blue line in the 8th row, so my next to highest priority number really pays off in Detroit. As hard as Detroit has been hit by the continuing decline in the auto industry (the recession is just a short run blimp in their long run problems), they should be giddy to have us there, but at the same time too poor to do anything about it. Where was the Frozen Four in the last recession (2001 maybe, and 1994/3 before that)?
