It's likely that those schools would be grandfathered into the legislation.

  Subject: NCAA Considers Change for D-III schools playing "up"


  Apparently the NCAA Division III President's Council is considering
  changing the rule that allows institutions to "play up" in Division I
  and offer scholarships.  The rule would be changed to forbid the
  offering of athletic scholarships, per Division III rules.

  If approved, the change would go into effect 8/1/2008.

  Hockey schools impacted would be:

  Colorado College
  St. Lawrence
  Clarkson
  Union
  Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
