Dr. Scott S. Cowen, the President of Tulane University, has begun a campaign
to refocus the NCAA back to its original ideals.  Although his arguments are
based around the current BCS system of Division I-A football, they can be
extended to apply to any and all collegiate athletics.

Dr. Cowen's excellent opinion piece that appeared in the NY Times in June,
along with various other releases, letters, and comments are all linked at
