The Brown Bears head for Milwaukee, WI to meet the Wisconsin Badgers in
the first round of the BankOne Badger Showdown on Thursday evening at the
Bradley Center.  Colorado College and UNH face off in the opening game at
5:05 p.m. CST.

    Although most observers would classify the Bears as decided underdogs in
this tournament, the Brown record to date would indicate that these games
are likely to be closely contested.  Against top-20 ranked teams thus far
this season, Brown has beaten Harvard, 4-2, in Cambridge, played Cornell
tough (1-2) through the 15-minute mark of the third period, and lost at
Maine, in overtime, 2-3, after a questionable (truly minor) hooking penalty
was called on a Brown forward two minutes into the extra session.

    In any event, the Showdown is always a terrific experience, and the
Bears are sure to profit from their participation.  It should be fun.
