Two similar games come to mind.  In December 1994, Vermont played at
Minnesota-Duluth, which scored a goal early and made it stand up the rest of
the way... until a penalty was called on the Bulldogs with less than a second
left in regulation.  The penalty was for a defenseman closing his hand on the
puck in the crease or some such -- whatever it was. it carried a penalty-shot
option, which of course Vermont elected to take.  As I recall, one of the
"elves" (Eric Perrin or Martin St. Louis) took the shot and tied the game up.
Vermont won 2-1 in OT.

In March 1998, Cornell was tied with St. Lawrence late in OT when the Big Red
was hit with a penalty.  St. Lawrence was looking to improve their PWR
standing, and thanks to a HOCKEY-L regular (!) head coach Joe Marsh was aware
that a win over Cornell would be crucial... so he pulled the goaltender and
the Saints got the game-winner with 1 second left in OT.
