WHO'S HOT..... Devin Rask has tallied at least one point in 16 of the
Friars' last 21 games and has recorded a 7-8-15 line in his last 10 games....

FRIARS SWEPT BY MAINE...On March 2, the Friars were defeated by Maine, 3-2
, at Alfond Arena.  Devin Rask (Parkside, Saskatchewan) tallied  two goals
for PC.  Nolan Schaefer (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) stopped 30 shots in
the loss.  On March 3, the Friars were defeated, 5-2 by the Black
Bears.  Junior March Suderman (Regina, Saskatchewan) gave the Friars a 1-0
first period lead but Maine responded by scoring three second period
goals.  Peter Fregoe (Massena, N.Y.) added a goal for the Friars.  Boyd
Ballard (Weyburn, Saskatchewan) recorded 36 saves in the loss.

RASK LEADS THE OFFENSE... Sophomore Devin Rask (Parkside, Saskatchewan)
tallied his team-leading 47th point (20 goals, 27 assists) in the Friars'
5-2 loss to Maine on March 2.  The centerman recorded one assist in the
victory.  On March 2, Rask tallied two goals in the Friars' 4-2 loss to
Maine at Alfond Arena.  This season, the Friars are 17-5-2 when Rask
tallies at least one point and are 2-5-3 in the games he has been held
pointless.

TIE FOR SECOND...The Friars finished the HOCKEY EAST regular season tied
with Maine for second place.  It marks the best HOCKEY EAST finish ever for
a Providence team.  However, the Friars will enter the playoffs at the No.
3 seed, as Maine holds the tie-breaker over the Friars.

Next FOR the FRIARS... The Friars will  host Boston University on March 9,
2001 in a best-of-three HOCKEY EAST Quarterfinal series.

PC IN THE HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT...PC holds an all-time mark of 21-22-1 in
HOCKEY EAST Tournament games.  PC has won two HOCKEY EAST titles (195 and
1996).  Last season, PC was defeated by the University of Maine, 2-0, in
the best-of-three HOCKEY EAST Quarterfinal series.  PC's last appearance at
the FleetCenter was during the 1998-99 season when the team was defeated by
New Hampshire, 6-2, at the FleetCenter in the Semifinals.

PC IN THE HOCKEY EAST QUARTERFINALS...The Friars have posted a 15-13-1 mark
all-time in the HOCKEY EAST Quarterfinals.

PC ALL-TIME IN HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT AT SCHNEIDER ARENA... The Friars have
posted a 12-5 mark all-time in HOCKEY EAST Tournament games at Schneider
Arena.  In PC's last win in a HOCKEY EAST Tournament game at Schneider
Arena, the Friars defeated BU, 5-1, On March 14, 1999.  PC's last defeat at
Schneider Arena in a HOCKEY EAST Tournament game was an 8-2 loss to the
Terriers on March 13, 1999.

PC VS. BU IN THE HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT...Since 1984-85, Providence and
Boston University have met 11 times in the HOCKEY EAST Tournament.  PC
holds a 7-4 mark against the Terriers in HOCKEY EAST Tournament action,
including a 5-1 record in the Quarterfinals.  PC is the only team in the
league with a winning record against the Terriers in HOCKEY EAST Tournament
play.  On March 13, 1999, PC was defeated by BU, 8-2, at Schneider
Arena.  PC's last win against BU in the HOCKEY EAST Tournament was a 5-1
win on March 14, 1999.

PC VS. BU IN THE HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT AT SCHNEIDER ARENA...Providence
holds a 3-1 mark against the Terriers at Schneider Arena in HOCKEY EAST
Tournament action.  In its first HOCKEY EAST Tournament game against the
Terriers at Schneider Arena, PC defeated BU, 3-2, in a one-game
Quarterfinal series on March 3, 1989.  PC's last win against the Terriers
at Schneider Arena in the HOCKEY EAST Tournament was a 5-1 win on March 14,
1999.  The Friars last loss to the Terriers was a 8-2 defeat on March 13, 1999.

THE Providence-BOSTON UNIVERSITY ALL-TIME Series... Friday's game will be
the 124th meeting between the two schools.  BU leads the all-time series
75-39-9.  PC is 7-3-2 in the last 12 meetings between the two teams.  The
two teams first met on February 25, 1927 with Boston University defeating
Providence, 12-0, at Rhode Island Auditorium.  The loss to the Terriers was
one of seven defeats the Friars suffered in their first season of
collegiate competition (1-7-0).  The Friars' last win against the Terriers
was a 4-3 victory on February 16, 2001 at Schneider Arena.  PC's last loss
to BU was a 4-3 defeat at Walter Brown Arena on February 19, 2000.  In
their last meeting, the two squads skated to a 5-5 tie on February 17, 2001
at Walter Brown Arena.
