Tonight RPI thoroughly handled an outmanned Quinnipiac team tonight
winning 6 to 4. Some shaky goaltending by Scott Prekaski allowed
Quinnipiac to creep back to within 2 goals, but the outcome was never in
doubt. RPI scored its first goal just 18 seconds into the first period
and never looked back. Brad Tapper scored two more goals to up his
weekend total to four. Quinnipiac's Chris Cerrella and Chad Poliquin
were QC's offensive stars, garnering a slew of points. More on the game
tomorrow.
In the opener, Niagara surprised BU shutting them out 3-0. BU goes 0-2
for the weekend after going 2-0 in Alaska. And the ECAC strikes first in
their HE rivalry going, by my count, 2 to 1 in games against the junior
league this weekend.
