I would agree that the skill level in the NHL is way higher than in
college; but I don't think you can attribute this to small rinks.  The
argument, and I agree, is that larger rinks would make the game even
more of a skating game.  In general, the assertion that College Hockey
is dirtier than pro leaves me incredulous.  I have never seen more
vicious stick work to the head than I have seen in the NHL the last few
years. It will only be matter of time before someone get killed or
maimed (i.e. lose an eye) in the NHL; it's getting that ugly.  I don't
have this fear about College (I am not counting accidents of course, as
we all know too well).  Is that because College is cleaner or is it
because they wear face shields?  Ooh, I guess I shouldn't go there,
never mind :)
