Playing time would seem a given, however it's an important part
of the overall calculations.
In order to ascertain scientific results all information has to be included.
Playing time has to be included. The players that play the most are of course
the better skilled players. But, these researchers are looking for causes or
predispositions to injury.
When you consider skating techniques, fatigue, etc. every player, even the
better ones, possess different skill and pain thresholds. Those variables
affect your performance. So, it's not really so elementary. It's much more
complex.
