Mark Lewin's comments on referee Melanson resonate with those of us who
follow UConn hockey. I personally put Melanson in the Harry and Pierre
category although I will admit that anyone can improve. But ever since a
certain UConn/Bowdoin game in Storrs a few years ago, Melanson has been our
standard for atrocious and inconsistent calls. I hope we never see him in
the MAAC or at a tournament. Anyway, the refereeing in the MAAC has been
pretty reasonable this year from where I stand.
 
        Btw, the SLU/RIP shots in the first were 15-18 last night??? What were
they thinking? Hasn't anyone told these teams that the playoffs have
already started? It will be interesting to see how RIP plays Tech tonight.
