Maine wasn't the only team that beat two weak teams and went down in the
rankings this weekend, either. Cornell thoroughly blew out Union, and
beat RPI, and yet fell from #24 to #27. Schedule strength, I'm sure,
was a factor, even though the blow-out at Union should have given us an
extra five points.

But you also have to remember that other teams are going to climb higher
in the rankings by beating strong teams. The teams they pass when they
climb have nowhere to go but down. I don't have the rankings in front
of me any more, but I'd be willing to bet that somewhere between #1 and
#26 are at least one or two teams that were below Cornell before this week.

So what happens if we sweep Vermont and Dartmouth, two weak teams, at home
this weekend? Do we drop down to #30?
