MacDonald stole the puck at center ice and broke in on Shulmistra.
There was a scramble around the net and the puck crossed the line as the net
was coming off the moorings. Referee Matt Shegos made a definitive signal for
a goal. With the Flames rejoicing on the ice, Miami naturally protested but
after a short discussion between Shegos and linesmen Jaffe and Vasilco, UIC
Captain Eric Schneider was able to give the thumbs up signal.

UIC has now won three in a row and plays at Ohio State this weekend.
