Just for the records, Chaz Scoggins does do a great job of covering UML
hockey as well as lots of other things. However, what I don't see at the
Sun (I have been working there for about six months now) is the kind of
effect that Mr. Conway's personal interests have on his paper's content.
Our sports editor, Dennis Whitton, has his own personal interests in
sports, like just about everybody in the business-- but it would be hard
to tell from reading the paper. Certainly UML athletics aren't as
systematically excluded or marginalized the way Merrimack's has been. And
the Sun is no bigger than the Tribune, with a circulation of a little
less than 59,000.
