Canada has many levels of hockey that are called "junior".  It is
playing in "major junior", also known as the CHL (WHL, OHL, QMJHL), that
affects NCAA eligibility.  The other levels are okay.
 
I am not sure exactly what level the Alberta league mentioned is
(JohnE?), but my guess would be something like Jr A or B.
