In this article:

   - new college hockey list (INFO-HOCKEY-L)

   - college hockey list moving (HOCKEY3)

   - new co-owners for college hockey lists (Mike & Pete)

   - new HOCKEY-L WELCOME message describes all changes

(Discussion of these changes should be on HOCKEY, please).

Effective immediately, a new list has been split off from HOCKEY-L:

INFO-HOCKEY-L -- The College Hockey Information List

With this new list, college ice hockey *information* should be posted to
INFO-HOCKEY-L *instead* of HOCKEY-L. (Division II/III information and
discussion continue on HOCKEY3).

NO DISCUSSION should take place on INFO-HOCKEY-L (more on the definition
of "information" later).

* If you are subscribed to HOCKEY-L, you probably will want to also
subscribe to INFO-HOCKEY-L, as the "information" postings formerly
found on HOCKEY-L will be moving to INFO-HOCKEY-L. To subscribe,
send mail to [log in to unmask] and in the body enter

      subscribe info-hockey-l Your Name

* If you are subscribed to HOCKEY-D, you need do nothing, as HOCKEY-D
will contain both HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L posts. By default,
HOCKEY-D is a daily digest of all postings, but HOCKEY-D subscribers
may send the this command to get all postings of HOCKEY-L and
   INFO-HOCKEY-L as individual mail:

      set hockey-l nodigest

* If you read HOCKEY-L via a local redistribution, then you may wish to
subscribe to INFO-HOCKEY-L or request your local newsgroup manager
   add a 2nd newsgroup for INFO-HOCKEY-L articles. A local
redistribution of HOCKEY-D (both HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L) is
possible, but that would be a read-only redistribution (a net post
would not be forwarded to HOCKEY-L nor INFO-HOCKEY-L).

New subscribers to the college hockey lists at the University of Maine
System (UMS) will notice HOCKEY3 will move from its current home. We're
not quite ready to move HOCKEY3, but we expect to very soon. Nice
enhancements to HOCKEY3 include digests and the searchable archives as
HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L enjoy. If you are subscribed to HOCKEY3,
your subscription will be moved automatically. HOCKEY3 is a discussion
list for NCAA Division II and III college ice hockey.

Please welcome two new co-owners of the college hockey lists at UMS:
Michael Machnik ([log in to unmask]) and Peter Kester
([log in to unmask]).

* Mike is responsible for any/all "content" issues on HOCKEY-L and
INFO-HOCKEY-L, as well as answering any comments or questions you
   might have.

* Pete continues to administer any/all HOCKEY3 issues.

* I (Wayne) will continue to administer hosting issues as well as deal
with mail delivery problems for all lists.

All these changes are described in the new, list welcome message. The
welcome message for all UMS college hockey lists are the same. To
obtain a copy for yourself, send mail to [log in to unmask] and
in the body enter

   get hockey-l welcome

If you have questions, comments or problems, please contact one of the
co-owners. If you'd like to discuss the operation of the college hockey
lists in public, please subscribe to the HOCKEY list at UMS by sending
mail to [log in to unmask] and in the body entering

   subscribe hockey Your Name

of HOCKEY-L articles will be moved to INFO-HOCKEY-L.
