TECH TO FINISH REGULAR SEASON AT WISCONSIN SATURDAY-SUNDAY
MTU Has Chance to Host First-Round WCHA Playoff Series

This Week: The Michigan Technological University hockey team will travel to
Madison, Wis., for a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series
with the University of Wisconsin Badgers this weekend. Saturday's (March 4)
contest will faceoff at 7:05 p.m. (CST) while Sunday's rematch (March 5) is
set for 4:05 p.m. Both games will be staged at the Dane County Coliseum
(8,644).

On Radio: All Michigan Tech games can be heard live on WZRK radio, 93.5 FM.
Bob Olson, the dean of broadcasters in the WCHA, is in his 24th season as
the voice of the Huskies. Volunteer assistant coach Darcy Way is back for
his fifth year providing color commentary.

The Records: MTU is 15-16-4 on the season overall and 12-15-3 in the WCHA.
Wisconsin is 17-13-4 in all games and 15-11-4 in league play.

The Coaches: Bob Mancini (Colorado College, 1982) is in his third year
behind the bench at MTU. He owns a 45-56-14 record at the school and in
four-plus years as a college head coach sports an 81-87-25 mark. Jeff
Sauer (Colorado College, 1965) is in his 13th year in charge of the
Wisconsin hockey program and owns a 340-187-27 record at the school. In
23-plus seasons as a college head coach, Sauer is 506-413-38.

The Series: Michigan Tech and Wisconsin will meet for the 98th and 99th
times this weekend. In the all-time series, which dates back to the 1927-28
season, Wisconsin owns a 55-36-0 advantage. The Badgers swept the Huskies
earlier this season in Houghton, Mich., by 7-6 and 4-1 counts (Nov. 11-12).

Coach Mancini on the Wisconsin Series: "This ia an important series for
both teams in regard to positioning for the playoffs. We need to use the
games in Wisconsin to get back on a winning track and prepare ourselves for
the playoffs."

Coach Mancini on the Colorado College Series: "Despite losing two games, I
was very pleased with our team's performance. They never quit and
five-on-five I thought we had the better of the play for most of the
weekend."

Junior defenseman Jason Wright (Thunder Bay, Ont.) will enter this
weekend's series at Wisconsin with a four-game point streak (2-4--6).

Edina, Minn., Carroll is employed by Rollerblade, Inc., and also serves as
the public address announcer for the IHL's Minnesota Moose . . . Sophomore

Saturday's game. It marked the second straight year the Huskies witnessed
