Its so good to see peaceful harmony and good will on HOCKEY-L as Christmas
approaches! :)
All the recent talk on this subject makes me want to send a Christmas card to
Saddam Huessein! :)
Seriously though, anyone who has their school sending representatives to the
World Jr.'s, regardless of the country, should be pleased and not to say that
it sucks.
BU will play 2 games while its representatives are gone, one possibly playing
Minnesota. (who I believe is sending players also) So what? The differencewonwon't be *that* much. More importantly, it could help recruiting tremendously.
For example, look at a Mass. high school star looking to stay in state for
college but has big prospects for the NHL. BU can say to him, "Look, we've
sent multiple players to world jr.'s for two years straight (maybe more). If
you attend BU, you will have the opportunity playing in an international
tournament for your country, thus getting more exposure to NHL scouts."
Talk shouldn't be centering on how it sucks that they will be gone, it should
be on pride in your school and the tournament itself.
Good luck to BU players Mike Grier, Shawn Bates, and Chris Kelleher!
Unfortunately I have to temporarily unsubscribe tomorrow from hockey-l for
winter break. Happy Holidays to all! (Even Maine fans!!) very big :)
