Colorado College squeaks out a 2-1 OT win this afternoon against Alaska-
Anchorage. The game started out with a bang, with CC freshman Jason
Gudmundson scoring just 16 seconds in. The Seawolves equalized on a
short-handed goal about 2 minutes later, and that's how the scoring stood
for the rest of regulation. Both teams were playing sloppy and tempers
were high the entire game, as 3 or 4 misconducts and 1 DQ were given out
by Ames and Seidel. In overtime, CC got a lucky break when at 2:47
Alaska's Meek took a penalty, I think for high-sticking, and got a power
play. 29 seconds later captain Kent Fearns put in a shot from just inside
the blue line to win the game.
CC now has sole possesionn of second place in the WCHA. Next up: a home
and home series with Denver Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
