I've read about the RPICH rankings and how the computer's top 12 teams all
made the NC$$. It seems to me, however, the system is fundamentally
flawed. How can it be that the WCHA's third place team in the regular
season and third place in the playoffs earns a bid over the regular season
champ *and* the second place playoff team (especially when the Cheesers
and St. Cloud were neck-and-neck in the conference regular season standings).
Then *both* Moo U and Western Mich. get bids from the CCHA. And Moo U
gets to play at home, even though they're far down the list of seeds.
Technical rankings be damned. There is no way CC should be excluded and
both MSU and Western Mich. be included. IMHO, of course.
