this game was a whole lot closer than the score indicates. Air force
came out hot and heavy and dominated the 1st period. The lone score
of the period was a BC short hander that came when a slap shot from the
left point took a crazy bounce off a BC shin pad ant an eagle got a
breakaway off of it. The backbreakers came in then 2nd period when
BC (aided by what I thought (as did the USAFA coaching staff) was a
BLATANT interference) got another breakaway and scored their second
short hander of the evening; and when BC scored a power play goal
immediately after a falcon clear was called back because the net was
FINALLY noticed to be off.

BC got another power play goal and another shorthanded goal to
complete their 5. Air force scored on a power play in the second for
it's goal. The falcons continue to be the best winless division 1
team in the nation. Chick Yackel wasn't too bad in his zebra suit,
but buzzy had the worst night i've ever seen him have. Air force's
coaching staff is usually pretty calm and collected, but they were
visibly upset with the officiating this afternoon. Tim Swiador didn't
have a good day on the lines either. He whistled an icing infraction
on a short handed length of the ice clear by DU, causing a center ice
face off. It was clear the officials weren't agreeing on calls all
afternoon, and it detracted from the game.

In person, it seemed like Konte had an OUTSTANDING night as many of
his saves were from close in shots.

I also thought the 4th DU goal was a bit soft from my vantage point (6
feet vertically below the TV camera)

Yes, the names and the assessment of the quality are both right on.
Sitting right behind the DU bench, I was able to hear a bit more than
usual, and Mike and robin, along with linesman Kirk Schoech, had
things well in hand.
