The Marist Hockey team plays in the ACHA. It is similar to a
program such as Penn State in that it is funded by the school
and supported heavily by the fans. The ice hockey team is the
third highest funded sport in the school and over the past three
years has the best record of all athletic teams. They play a
schedule and a skill level similar to a division three school.
They just played their first league games this week. The icers fell
in a hard fought battle to Southern Conn. . The Red Foxes were down
7-2 until the third period when they battled back to a 7-6 loss.
Although it was a tough loss by the Foxes the team seemed to rally
behind it because on Saturday they played an excellent game against
division rival Siena. In front of a near capacity crowd the icers
beat the Golden Saints 5-2. All lines were impressive.
