Lets hope Don continues his class act here, and can structure things
so the tigers are as strong emotionally about the final memories of
the world (s worst) arena as the gophers were about mariucci last
year. The other non hockey worry is where they'll play next year.
Don absolutely HAS to keep the players from reacting to the news
media and the inevitable controversy surrounding this choice.

Last night our local NBC affiliate pre-empted Law & Order for a 30
minute special pitching a civic center and arena. There is about
(they say) $32M in donations, and the arena backers want the city and
county to provide some "infrastructure" in the form of roads and
interstate access. This move has already, and will continue, to be
controversial. Also, the plan is for the building to be city owned
and managed by the Broadmoor hotel. The city was stung several years
back on a deal with municipalizing the now defunct ski area that ended
up costing "taxpayers" somewhere around 500,000 dollars.

Don has to keep his kids out of and unaffected by this issue. I hope
he's successful.
