honors. this came from today's Boston Globe, and was written
by Allen Lessels:
---------UMAss shows interest in Maine coach Walsh---------------
|
| Shawn Walsh, coach of the top-ranked University of Maine
| hockey team, said yesterday he was contacted by University of
| Massachusetts officials about their head coaching job "a while
| back."
|
| "I told them I'd be interested in talking to them at the end
| of the year and only then," Walsh said. "I have too many important
| things to do now."
|
| Walsh's team plays Northeastern this weekend in the first round of
| the Hockey East playoffs, the first step in what he hopes is a trip
| to the NCAA's Final Four in Milwaukee and a national championship.
|
| "You never say no," Walsh said of the Minutemen, who will be starting
| a Division 1 program. "I tell that to my guys and I think I've got
| to do the same for my family. I haven't spent a lot of time on it
| and I'm not going to worry about it. Who knows? I'm not saying I will.
| I just don't know yet."
