Well I'm back from skiing. The Adirondacks only got 3" of snow while we
got 7" in Potsdam, so the skiing wasn't that awesome. I see that Ken and
mangled McEachern's name in the previous posting about the BU game. Sorry,
we were listening to the radio and had trouble with the name, as did the
announcers, changing it every so often. Also, Cashman was in goal.

Goalies: Galuppo, BC; Rogles, CU and Currie, CU

As you can see, BC had the upper hand in scoring possibilities in
the first period. However, it was Clarkson who scored first on their first
shot on goal @ 3:43. Belanger shot the puck from the blue line on Galuppo
who directed it into the corner with his blocker. Belanger followed his shot
in and picked up the puck behind the net. He scored on the wrap-around.
Clarkson had let BC control the game up to that point, but got into the game
with that goal and started applying some of their own pressure. A penalty to
Clarkson cost them their momentum and lead. A wide open Pergola received the
puck from Beran at the side of the net and slipped it in @ 10:24 (pp). Purgola
scored again on a nice play from Beran. Beran was skating in and drawing
Clarkson's defense. It appeared that he was going to go araound behind the net,
but he dropped the puck back between his legs to Purgola at the last moment.
Purgola had no problem beating a faked out Rogles @ 13:45. Clarkson had had
trouble clearing the zone. Dave Emma scored @ 19:36 on the pp from McInnis
and Pascucci to end the period. BC was 2 for 2 on pp chances. A good amount
of their shots came when BC won the face-off in the Clarkson zone and shot
from the point immediately. This was to go on all night. After the first
penalty Clarkson skated pretty flat and would not skate better until the
third period when BC was to relax.
	J. Crowley scored BC's first goal in the second period @ 1:13. Dave
Trombley of Clarkson gave some hope to the team when he pick-pocketed a BC
defenseman behind the BC goal and wrapped-around the second Clarkson goal
@ 7:26. This was during a 4 on 4 situation. However Beran would score @
14:25 on the pp to make it 5-2. He was assisted by Pergola and O'Neill. This
line had accounted for 3 of the 5 goals. Currie was put in net after this goal.
However, he made a quick exit after Emma had Currie place a rebound on his
stick @ 14:47, from Heinze and Dennehy. Rogles went back in goal. Beran got
his second goal and fourth point when he took the puck away from Rogles who
was out of his net playing the puck. Pergola and T. Crowley assisted on this
goal @ 19:17.
Schafhauser got the last BC goal @ 7:04 from Dennehy and Farley.
With BC relaxing now and Clarkson trying to gain some pride back,
Clarkson scored the next three goals. Belanger scored on the pp @ 13:26
from Dennicourt and Trombley. This was Clarkson's second pp of the
weekend, the first coming a few minutes earlier. Clarkson was never
threatening long enough in the previous five periods to really be able to
draw a penalty. Trombley got his second goal @ 15:30 when he picked up
his own rebound, assists to Tretowicz and Cassleman. Clarkson seemed to
be threatening a little more when Cassleman scored on a nice tic-tac-toe
passing play form Tretowicz and Belanger @ 16:47 during the pp.
Clarkson had come to life in the last 10 minutes. After this last goal,
Galuppo had to make a couple of good saves to prevent Clarkson from
getting even closer.
Clarkson still needs to work on moving the puck out of their
defensive zone. When they can't, it leads to too many shots and goals.
Clarkson also needs to work on winning face-offs. Even though none
of the lost face-offs led to goals, it did give BC control of the puck.
However, Clarkson did split the weekend and gained some respectability.
On Saturday they play arch-rivals St. Lawrence at Walker. The Saints
lost both games during the weekend, losing 5-3 to BU. Clarkson is now
6-2 in non-league games while SLU is 3-5. The Saints seem to be playing
above their heads in their home games against ECAC opponents. Clarkson
will be hungry to avenge their loss when they meet SLU this weekend.
