Propelled by frosh Eric Ortlip,s two goals 17 seconds apart in the third
period, the Huskies defeated Dartmouth tonight 3-2 at Thompson Arena.

Mike Byrne opened the scoring for the Big Green at 7:37 of the first on a
high shot from the slot after a scramble. Assists went to PJ Martin and Brian
Van Abel. Chris Lynch tied it for the Huskies bearing in from the
goaltender's right to flip a backhander that some how found its way in. The
goal was scored at 9:27 of the first with an assist to Graig Mischler.

Gary Hunter put Dartmouth up 2-1 on a shot similar to teams first goal from
right in front. The goal was scored at 17:50 and assists went to Pete
Summerfelt and Jamie Herrington.

THen Eic Ortlip began his Husky heroics first at 4:12 of the third after a
long pass up ice to Sean MacDonald, a drop pass and a quick shot by Eric from
the top of the circle to the goaltender's left. He then scored at 4:29 on a
breakway, forehand deke and a backhand shot hitting just under the cross bar.
The game ended 3-2 NU.

Dartmouth outshot the Huskies 36--29 and seemed to have a large territorial
edge. Howver Mike Gilhooly in the NU net made a number of good stops and a
great on right in front, late in the third.
