General notes: Points are 10 for a first place vote, 5 for a
second place vote and 2 for a third place vote. Coaches
may not vote for their own players...hence, it's possible to
be named on ten ballots (100 possible points). Only one
nominee per team per category. I've used * to indicate
multiple solutions to receiving the said number of points.
To get the exact voting totals, you'll have to contact the
CCHA office.

CCHA PLAYER OF THE YEAR VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 Chad Alban (Michigan State) 7 2 1 82
 2 Bill Muckalt (Michigan) 4 5 1 67
 3 Hugo Boisvert (Ohio State) 0 3 6 27
 4 Brett Colbourne (Ferris St) 0 1 0 5
 5 Dan Boyle (Miami) 0 0 2 4
 6 Curtis Sheptak (North Mich) 0 0 1 2

Comments: A decent race, but clearly Alban's. I'm
surprised that both he and Muckalt received a third
place vote. I wonder what the voting would have been
if MSU's Sean Berens and Tyler Harlton would have
also been "vote eligible." Boisvert would still get a
few votes, but I don't see the others sneaking in.
(Someone had Colbourne second? Whatever.)

CCHA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 Mark Eaton (Notre Dame) 5 2 2 64
 2 Jeff Maund (Ohio State) 5 2 1 62
 3 Rustyn Dolyny (Michigan St) 1 5 4 43
 4 Mark Kosick (Michigan) 0 1 4 13
 5 Shawn Timm (Bowling Green) 0 1 0 5

Comments: What a race! Eaton squeaks past Maund
by a third place vote. Any of the top three were decent
choices. Note that Dolyny was on every ballot, while
Eaton was left off of one and Maund off of two. Go figure.
Kosick got the UM nod and finished an expected fourth.
The CCHA had an impressive group of frosh this season.
IMO, Michigan has the deepest group with Kosick, Van
Ryn, Langfeld, Huntzicker, Koch, Matzka, et al.

CCHA COACH OF THE YEAR VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 John Markell (Ohio State) 9 1 0 95
 2 Ron Mason (Michigan State) 1 7 0 45
 3 Red Berenson (Michigan) 1 * * 20
 4 Rick Comley (Northern Mich) 0 * * 18
 5 Bob Daniels (Ferris State) 0 1 1 7
 6 Dave Poulin (Notre Dame) 0 0 1 2

Comments: I still like my pick of Casey Jones. :-) I'm
a little surprised that Mason got so many high end votes.
He's a great coach, but MSU didn't really exceed any
expectations in the CCHA. Of course, there is something
to be said for winning when you're *expected* to win, too.

CCHA BEST OFFENSIVE DEFENSEMAN VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 Dan Boyle (Miami) 8 1 1 87
 2 Brett Colbourne (Ferris St) 2 5 1 47
 3 Mark Eaton (Notre Dame) 0 4 2 24
 4 Bubba Berenzweig (Michigan) 1 0 2 14
 5 Ryan Root (Ohio State) 0 1 2 9
 6 Curtis Sheptak (North Mich) 0 0 3 6

Comments: No surprise here. Berenzweig and Eaton are
the only non-seniors. UND's Benoit Cotnoir also deserves
mention, but the Irish nomination went to Eaton.

CCHA BEST DEFENSIVE DEFENSEMAN VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 Tyler Harlton (Michigan St) 10 0 0 100
 2 Todd Rohloff (Miami) 1 4 2 34
 3 Bubba Berenzweig (Michigan) 0 3 1 17
 4 Ted Laviolette (Lake State) 0 2 2 14
 5 Nathan Borega (Notre Dame) 0 1 1 7
     Jim Dube (Ferris State) 0 1 1 7
 7 Rocky Welsing (North Mich) 0 0 3 6
 8 Andre Signoretti (Ohio St) 0 0 1 2

Comments: A clean sweep for Harlton. Berenzweig is the
only defenseman to receive votes in both "best" categories.
Ted "do I also get a set of steak knives with that giveaway"
Laviolette? Okey dokey.

CCHA BEST DEFENSIVE FORWARD VOTES
POS NAME (SCHOOL) 1ST 2ND 3RD PTS
 1 Terry Marchant (Lake State) 5 2 1 62
 2 Bobby Hayes (Michigan) 2 * * 37
 3 Sean Berens (Michigan State) 3 1 0 35
 4 Chris Richards (Ohio State) 1 * * 22
 5 Adam Copeland (Miami) 0 * * 19
 6 Brad Frattaroli (North Mich) 0 1 0 5
     Joel Irwin (Ferris State) 0 1 0 5
 8 Steve Noble (Notre Dame) 0 0 1 2

Comments: No real surprises here, either. The top four
were just as expected. And, I'm probably a bit biased,
but if you looked at the *second* best defensive forward
on each team, Michigan's Dale Rominski is head and
shoulders above the rest. Both he and Hayes would be
in my top four or five overall.

Any typos, transcription errors or just plain poor math
is mine.
