It might put him at odds with Albany -- but Marine Midland Bank is
THE corporate sponsor of the MAAC basketball tournament -- and
actually suggested the every-other-year proposal for that event.  The
arena people are very serious about attracting major sports events --
and I personally think it's a good sign in itself that they see
the college hockey championships as a major event.

The host teams would be Canisius and Niagara.
