Several hundred people were there last night (including a lot of
non-students!). TO make a long story short, lots of "Hail to the
victors" (only 4000 times. (: ), lots of news media, and lots of hype.

Glen Williams, the voice of yost, introduced the team after saying how
good it was to be able to be a cheerleader after 26 years of working at
the Yost where he couldn't.

Turco got the biggest reception along with a nice fanfare from the band.
AFter the team was introduced, Duderstat (The prez. of UM) spoke, along
with Red, who gave a very emotional speech. Then some of the players spoke.

After the rally, there was an autograph signing period. All the players
(and Red!) seemed very down to earth (hey, I even forgot about him peeing
on the library a few years ago. (Grin).) There were lots of little kids
who got a BIG thrill out of getting autographs and pictures taken with
team members.

I was amazed how small the team was off of skates and how tiny they look
without pads on. THey're all about my size, or maybe a little taller.

Anyway, a great end to a great season. It was a good
self-congratulatory "closure" event for me.

(Oh yeah, I talked with Red for about 5 seconds. I said, "Don't let the
juniors leave." He said, "I don't think you have to worry about it."
Also, Morrison, in his speech, kept alluding to "next year," which
hopefully means he'll be back.)
