Today's Chicago Tribune article says that Jimmy Collins accepted
the UIC Flames head coach position in hoops.  It further states:
 
"UIC's move signals a broad increase in its commitment to
basketball.  Using money from ice hockey, which sources said
will be officially dropped as early as Thursday, the school will
devote more funding to coaching salaries and to operations
such as recruiting."

It looks like the rumor mill is going to be right on this one.
A sad day for college hockey in Chicago, and right when the
final 4 is going on...  stay tuned for the "official" announcement.
