This ended a slump for John Madden... it's been several weeks since he
last scored a SHG :)

I believe MSU's second goal did come on the 5-3.  With that exception
Michigan's special teams shined (again).  Michigan has had MSU's number
this season, winning the series 4-1, with the loss coming in Munn.  In
my oppinion MSU is not playing as a team at this point and I predict they
will loose in the first round of the NC$$ even if they play at home.  When
Anson Carter doesn't produce the Spartan's can not win.  Earlier JohnH
suggested that Ron Mason should receive coach of year honors, but I have
to disagree.  The Spartan's played great for the first half of the season
but is seems like the wheels have been falling off the last 5 weeks.

I would agree.  I think tonight's game determines who get's the second
seed, and therefore the second bye, in the west.  UofM and LSSU are ranked
3 and 4 respectively in RPICH, and 4 and 3 respectively in the TUC selection
criteria rankings (see Erik Biever's earlier posts).  It should be a
great game.  I just hope that win or loose we don't run into the Lakers
in the NC$$ playoffs, especially at Munn.  We all know what happened the
last time these two teams met for the CCHA championship :(.
