I can indeed verify the RPI Psi Upsilon fraternity starting the
hockey line the day after the 85 championship. It would have been
around the beginning of April and they did indeed maintain their
spot until September when tickets went on sale.
 
As to whether they kept 1 person there per every 6 tickets or not
at all times is extremely doubtful, but they did indeed complete
their mission.
 
I should know as I sat with them for the 85/6 season - and never
waited a moment in line either - the only year that I didn't.
 
BTW - it was very 'fashionable' during RPI's 3 great years in the
80's to sleep out for any post season tickets - what fools we were.
