The unofficial storyline... LSSU 5 vs Mich 4 OT
(unofficial because it was witnessed by a obviousely prejudiced
person, me)

I took the time to write these notes down, now you are going to see them!

The tension in the air before the game started was just incredible.

Grahame comes 2/3's of the way out to the blue line to slap a puck
away before the charging Mich player can get it. He almost blows it.
The crowd goes, "Whew!"

1st Mich goal. Everyone (including Grahame) could see it would be a
wrap around attempt, Grahame moved into position, but Hayes skated a
little wide (6-8 feet) of the net because he saw it was all covered.
But then he did what he should have, he shot it in front of Grahame
and it went off a skate into the net. Who is Hayes (goal) and Arnold
(assist) anyways? First time I heard there names all year.

1st penalty kill for LSSU. They completly shut down Mich. I believe
that Mich didn't even have a shot on goal.

2nd Mich goal. Slapshot on the ice from the blueline. Looks like
Grahame was screened by 3-4 players.

1st LSSU goal. Lakers have great passing control of the puck in the
Mich end. Shot was from in front of the goalie, the rebound was off
to Turco's right and Alvey just popped it in. The crowd goes comp-
letely wild.

At about the 12:30 mark to the 10:00 minute mark it was just awesome
to watch the Lakers. They put on a incredible amount of pressure.
Completely dominating.

2nd LSSU goal. A slapshot from the right point by G. Tallaire. Assist
by Aldridge. The crowd is going nuts. Very loud.

1st penalty of 3rd period. LSSU puts incredible shorthanded pressure
on Mich. Everyone is just waiting for Battaglia to score another SH.

3rd Mich goal. Shot from the right of Grahame, rebounds back up
center and shot in on open net.

3rd LSSU goal. Couldn't see what happened. The crowd is getting
louder and louder.

No way. In one of the largest 50/50 drawings to date, $931 you
would never guess who won? Hockey-L's very own Jon Barken.

4th Mich goal. Puck is moving across in the very front of Grahame
from his left to right in a scrum. I swear that this went in the
net off of one of the Lakers sticks. Can anyone confirm?

Our goalie is pulled. We are putting tons of pressure on. Shot comes
down to our empty net, icing! Faceoff, more pressure by the Lakers,
another icing call. I tell my daughter that if the Lakers score
that she better protect herself from my going wild. Scrum in front
of Turco, we score with 35 seconds left. The crowd is in a swoon,
they are ecstatic, everyone cheering. My daughter says, "Dad, you
are hurting me." I was hugging her to tight!

5th LSSU goal (game winner). Puck goes into the corner in Mich end,
Lakers have clear control of puck, a couple of Lakers (maybe just 1)
goes in front of Turco. ALL the Mich players go in front of Turco.
A pass out to Aldridge, he is completly open. I mean he is so open
that there is not a player between him and 10 feet of the crease. A
Mich player comes out to try and stop him, he fakes a shot and gets
around him easily. Skates in closer to the net easily, he is just
choosing when he will shoot. Rats, I just can't see anymore because
there are so many players there. I keep looking for the light to
come on, it doesn't. Then the Ref makes the sign indicating a goal.
After a couple of seconds the goal light finally comes on. Who saw
this at a closer angle then me? Someone here said it went off a pipe.
Again the crowd goes wild.

Some other notes and comments.

Each goal by LSSU put the crowd into more of a frenzy. Each goal led
to a louder cheer then the previous ones.

We were completly dominating on the face-offs won, 46-29.

Icings, don't have the actual number, but Mich had to ice the puck
intentionally many (4-6?) times because of LSSU pressure.

Mich is eating at the Antlers after each game.

If you thought the tension was thick last night, wait until tonight.

I was amazed at how well Mich chased the puck when we had control deep
in our end. Many times we had the classic holding the puck behind the
net waitng for everyone to get into position, when here would come a
Mich player right behind the net after the puck. Its not very often
that you see a team do that.

See you tonight.

Again, these are my own notes and they could be wrong.
