Yep, I believe most people's reactions were, "What is *that*?"
"It's either a giant fish head or last evening's roast beef from
    Choke'nshields."
"God, that's *huge*, and ugly to boot."

I'd also mention that after the game ended some fans jumped over the glass
onto the ice. You'd think we had won an ECAC championship or something,
but I can't fault their enthusiasm. After going to games when I was young
(since 1986), and then watching the team fall on some bad times, it's good
to see things start to look up again while I'm at Cornell. The fans are
back, the band is loud (swift self-pat on the back :), and the team hits
hard. It's awfully nice to hear, "Which team is the winning team!?" again.

As for the Denver Cup: Well, the pep band would've liked to be there, but
there's this little thing called funding... $:( We're trying to pull
something together for the Clarkson/SLU weekend - too bad Clarkson isn't
bringing their band; we could have had a respectable party or two.

I also heard some reports that Vinnie Auger was injured: is this true, and
if so, was it bad?

Open question to members of other pep bands: How do you fool the
university into giving you more money, or do you hold
raffles/fundraisers/bazaars/fireman's carnavals/(other events where you beg
for money)? We get enough for a bus on one road trip per year - the rest
of the roadtrips we carpool to. This is especially directed towards the
schools with marching bands to suck up some money.

Thanks for the detailed reports on the games,
Scott

CU Pep Band 'Bone/Conductor Worst cheer yet: "What are you, ten!?"
