That Announcement is part of the NCAA ice Hockey Rules committee
points of emphasis this year. If you want to stop by my office and
glance at the rule book feel free. Or you can stop up and talk
to Rick Yeo, who is a member of the NCAA Ice Hockey Rules committee.

Over the years there have been fans who get out of hand. The NCAA looks
like it wants to make the arena's a place to bring your family as well
as the students. Yell all you want, just don't be abusive.
There have been times where students beating on glass have knocked
sections out, resulting in delays to the game and possible injuries
to players and fans. Even without the glass coming out, a player
pinned to the glass could be injured by a fan beating on the other side.

My understanding of the incident was the 19 seats directly behind the penalty
boxes and scorers table have been the site of abuses of refs, fans, standing
on chairs, banging glass etc. And they were warned previously. all 19
were told to turn in their tickets and a refund would be issued. 15 of them
did, the other four seats were removed. The MTU comp tickets for family
of the players has now been moved to that area, eliminating any problem
with the penalty box area.

I don't speak for the University or the ice arena, this is just what I have
heard at the games. I in no way am saying these people were guilty
or innocent.
