Thanks to Richard Hungerford for posting that info about Erin Whitten.
The other 7 USA Hockey honorees were:
 
1994 USA HOCKEY JUNIOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jason Blake, Audubon, MN.  Blake had 50-50--100 in 47 games for
Waterloo (USHL) in 1993-94.  He was MVP of the USHL and will attend
Ferris State this fall.
 
1994 USA HOCKEY COLLEGE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Chris Marinucci, Grand Rapids, MN.  Marinucci had 30-31--61 for
Minnesota-Duluth and won the Hobey Baker.  He was named as the WCHA
Player of the Year.
 
1994 BOB JOHNSON MEDALLION (2 honorees)
Karen Kay, Dover, NH.  Kay coached Team USA to a 4-1 record and a
silver medal at the 1994 IIHF Women's World Championship.
 
Guy Hebert, Troy, NY.  Hebert posted a 2.83 GAA and .907 save pct for
the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, along with a record of 20-27-3 in the NHL
franchise's inaugural season.  He then joined Team USA at the IIHF
World Championship and went 4-2-0 with a 3.60 GAA and .907 save pct,
leading Team USA to a fourth-place finish.  Hebert stopped 53 of 54
shots in Team USA's 3-1 quarterfinal round win over Russia, the first
win for Team USA over a Russian/Soviet WC or Olympic team since 1980
in Lake Placid.
 
(The Bob Johnson Medallion is presented annually by USA Hockey in
recognition of excellence in international competition during a
specific season.)
 
WALTER YACIUK AWARD
Lou Vairo, Colorado Springs, CO.  Vairo has coached at virtually every
level of hockey including youth, junior, international and
professional.  He served as head coach of the 1984 US Olympic Team and
as Director of Special Projects for USA Hockey, he orchestrated the
1993 World Hockey Summit in Boston, MA, an event which was so well
received that it will be held again in Boston on July 6-8, 1995.
 
(Presented annually by USA Hockey's Coaching Education Program, the
Walter Yaciuk Award honors an individual who has made an outstanding
contribution to the program during many years of service.)
 
JOFA-TITAN/USA HOCKEY DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Kevin Constantine, International Falls, MN.  In his first season as an
NHL head coach, Constantine led the San Jose Sharks to a 33-35-16
regular season record and a stunning first round upset of the Detroit
Red Wings.  Constantine also led the 1991 US Junior Team to a
fourth-place finish in the World Juniors and served as an assistant
coach for the 1989 and 1990 US Junior Teams.

or her profession and has made outstanding contributions to the sport

WM. THAYER TUTT AWARD
J. Lawrence Cain, Detroit, MI.  Cain has devoted more than four
decades of service to USA Hockey, beginning in the 1950s when he
helped organize and sponsor youth teams and leagues in Michigan.  He
served as managing director of the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association
from 1962-69 as well as 12 years as a director of the Detroit Skating
Club.  In 1964 he was elected to the USA Hockey board of directors and
from 1968-69, he served as treasurer of USA Hockey.  He remains active
within the organization as a director emeritus.
 
(Presented by Easton Sports, the Wm. Thayer Tutt Award honors a USA
Hockey volunteer who has, during many years of service, displayed a
selfless dedication to the enhancement of ice hockey at the grassroots
level in America.)
