ECAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Northeastern: Jeanine Sobek, SR, F. (Coon Rapids, MN)
Led the Huskies to a 2-0 weekend with 4 goals and 4 assists.
In the big 2-8 win over UNH, Sobek had a hat trick and 2 assists.
Right now she is really starting to motor!
ECAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Providence: Alison Wheeler, FR, F. (Waterbury, VT)
Had 8 points in the two weekend wins for the Friars. Against
Yale she had 3 goals and 4 assists. Wheeler had 1 goal in the PC
6-5 win over the Maidens of Pain.
ECAC NEWS:
Big move in the league standings was from St. Lawrence who moved
up to the 5th spot. If UNH defeats the Saints on Saturday, the
Wildcats will have home ice for the quarterfinals. If the Saints win
and beat Colby on Sunday, St. Lawrence will have home ice. Princeton
has a chance of home ice if they win both their games and many other
teams do not. Andrea Boudreau helped Brown to its first Ivy League
title since 1986 with her game-winning goal against Princeton. Well
done Brown! Karen Chernisky scored a hat trick in a 6-5 loss to PC.
In 3 games last week, Gretchen Ulion of Dartmouth had 8 goals and 7
assists.
