As I was reading Rich's original post, I was reminded not of a romance,
exactly, but a good friendship that has a lot to do with hockey.  My
'big' (sibling) in my coed fraternity and I were matched up specifically
because of our interest in hockey.  When I got to the end of the post, I
was surprised by the other similarity - the fraternity to which I belong
actually happens to be Alpha Phi Omega :).  Strange coincidences to make
me smile, anyway. :)
