FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 15, 1999

ECAC Announces Ice Hockey Television Package

CENTERVILLE, Mass.--Commissioner Phil Buttafuoco announced today that
the ECAC has reached an agreement with the New England Sports Network
(NESN) to televise an ECAC Division I men's ice hockey game-of-the-week
package beginning January 21.

As part of the agreement, ECAC ice hockey will be seen live on
television throughout New England and surrounding areas on local cable
systems, while others around the country will see ECAC ice hockey via
satellite television (Direct TV and Primestar). The package will
include a total of 11 games concluding with the ECAC championship March
17-18 from Lake Placid, New York. All 11 games will be seen live on New
England Sports Network.

The package will kick off when defending ECAC champion Clarkson visits
Appleton Arena to face long-time rival St. Lawrence. On January 22, the
game of the week will showcase Dartmouth at Colgate from Starr Rink,
while Yale University's Ingalls Rink will be the site of the January 28
match-up between Union and Yale. ECAC action will continue on February
11 as Princeton travels to Union's Achilles Rink. On February 18, St.
Lawrence will be at the Bright Hockey Center to square off against
Harvard, while Vermont will host Cornell on February 25 in one of
college hockey's finest atmospheres, the Gutterson Field House. The
final regular-season contest will feature Rensselaer at Brown from
Meehan Auditorium on March 3.

On March 11, NESN will broadcast one of the first-round playoff games
(teams and location will be announced at the conclusion of the regular
season). The semifinals will be broadcast from Lake Placid March 17,
and the championship game will be seen live on March 18.

        Tom Caron will provide the play-by-play while Bob Norton will
serve as the color commentator. Caron is currently the cohost for the
network's nightly sports magazine program, Front Row, and also serves as
a Boston Bruins reporter for NESN.

Norton, a familiar face as the color commentator for the NCAA Ice Hockey
Championships the last few years, is not new to ECAC television. He has
served as the color analyst on the ECAC Football Game of the Week
package on NESN.
