Interesting post by Larry Winer. In my opinion, there are a lot of things
about it that don't meet the eyeball test, however. First off, I think QC
and their AD Jack MacDonald have a lot more regard for their credibility
than that. And the talk about UConn? Doubt it would ever happen. Title 9
and D-1-A football rides. If not for that, UConn would be in HE long ago.
Just about everyone in HE is a football or basketball foe so the rivalries
are natural and in place right now in HE.
But ... all that said, I think that a lot of very feverish and creative
thinking is going on right now about college hockey realignment. It really
is a case of musical chairs with no one wanting to be left out when the
music stops. So, in that context perhaps anything is possible.
