Now this is interesting. Amaze your friends with your in-depth knowledge
of college hockey.

There is one major personnel change for Lowell between last year and this
year. Greg Bullock left Lowell and turned pro after his sophomore year
last year, a year in which he had 25-40--65 (18-29--47 HE) and amassed 125
penalty minutes (60 HE).

In 1994-95 with Greg Bullock:
* Lowell had 633 PIM in 24 Hockey East games.
* In HE, Christian Sbrocca had 56 PIM and 7-23--30.
* Lowell went 11-12-1 in HE.
* Lowell averaged scoring 4.38 goals per HE game and allowed 4.83 goals/HE game.

In 1995-96 without Greg Bullock:
* Lowell has 420 PIM in 22 HE games (before BU Sunday).
* In HE, Sbrocca has 20 PIM and 10-21--31.
* Lowell is 15-5-2 in HE (before BU).
* Lowell is averaging 4.73 goals per HE game and is allowing 3.86 goals/HE game.

This is what is known as "addition by subtraction". :-)

And, it is exactly the sort of effect that many of us predicted would
happen when Bullock elected to leave Lowell. It was too bad to lose a
player of his talent, but there can be no question that Lowell is a better
team this year without him.
