The designations are purely arbritrary. The teams could just as well
have been called Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. The purpose of the
Olympic Festival is definitely NOT to have different regions of the
country competing against each other, but to evaluate the best American
athletes in preparation for the Olympic Games. Thank God! There's nothing
as obnoxious as regionalism.
