Well, at first I thought they might have only listed each team's top 3
picks over the last 3 years - but that can't be true. I found the
following from the archives (doing a search on "Alvey"):
+Date: Fri, 2 Jul 1993 08:23:48 EDT
+From: John Haeussler USA/Canada <[log in to unmask]>
+Subject: NHL entry draft / CCHA
+
+CCHA Press Release: June 30, 1993
...
+ROUND OVERALL NAME COLLEGE 93-94 YR POS TEAM
+ 1 25 Kevyn Adams Miami Sophomore C Boston
+ 2 39 Brendan Morrison Mich. Freshman C New Jersey
+ 2 51 Matt Alvey LSSU Freshman RW Boston
Now you know the rest of the story. :-)
Apparently THN thinks more of Bates (4th rd) and Paquette than of Alvey.
On the other hand, I found a post from December in which it was said
that Alvey was off to a good start with LSSU and was impressive - this
from LSSU season ticket holders. I don't remember him making that
much of an impression, however, the few times I saw LSSU on tv or in
person this season.
