According to John Gilbert in the Minneapolis StarTribune, "there were
strong indications Gasparini was forced out. He declined to attend a
university news conference yesterday announcing his resignation, saying
'That's their show.' He declined to comment on the situation Friday, when
his resignation letter was submitted."
