wayne described in an earlier message how to use the file retrieval
facilities of listservs.
 
For those of you who have gopher, you should be able to connect to
gopher at maine and access pretty much the same stuff as you can get
through the listserv.  From my environment I get at it 2 different
ways...
A) I incant "gopher" and select
   8 - other gophers
   1 - all the gopher servers in the world
   1010 - university of Maine
   6 - misc info
   3 - listserv lists
   5 - hockey-l
       and then browse through the hockey-l files
B) I connect directly to the maine system by incanting
        "gopher maine.maine.edu" and select
   6 - misc info
   3 - listserv lists
   5 - hockey-l
       and then browse through the hockey-l files
